Bark once for yes, twice for no, three times to say hello

Apparently, humans and dogs can talk to each other.

Scientists are always surprised when dogs have human traits, but considering the Darwinian order, doesn't it make more sense to say that humans have dog traits refined over millennia?

And the fact that dogs detect unfairness isn't all that surprising. Humans care about fairness because it impacted our social evolution, right? Why not the same for canines?

Or maybe I've just been drinking the dog lovers' Kool-Aid. Every dog owner I've ever met thinks their dog can talk, and is also the smartest thing on legs.
